Since 2017, Local Eats has been more than just a place to grab a bite or pick up groceries it's been a gathering place for the Palmyra, VA community and beyond. Founded by Amy Meyers and her family, Local Eats was born from a shared passion for fresh food, local goods, and meaningful connections. As a proudly female-owned and family-operated business, we believe in the power of community and the importance of supporting local farmers, artisans, and makers.

What started as a small neighborhood spot has grown into a beloved destination for residents of Palmyra, Scottsville, Lake Monticello, and Charlottesville. Our space blends the warmth of a caf with the practicality of a grocery store, offering everything from farm-to-table meals and vegan-friendly dishes to fine wines, craft beers, and everyday essentials. I love this little market! I found them after I had been looking at rebel cheese, an artisanal vegan cheese company. This market was listed on the company website, and so I went by to check them out. I'm so happy to say that now they order rebel cheese for me periodically, and I am so glad to have a small local business to support in the process! Everyone there is so nice, and I always stay a little longer than anticipated because of the good conversations.
